Games Muslims Play  Suicide Bombings are Against Islam The Game: Apologists claim that since suicide is against Islamic teaching, suicide bombings must be unIslamic. The Truth: It is true that suicide is against Islam, however, the religion does not consider 'martyrdom attacks' to be the same as suicide.  The Quran extols martyring oneself for the cause of Allah, and there are many historical accounts in which Muhammad encouraged young men to throw themselves into battle knowing they would die.  This subject is explored in greater detail in the TROP article on suicide attacks.
